AME 8TH AVENUE: TAKING THE STREETS OF HARAJUKU
COSPLAY COMPETITION


Registration:
1. Registration will begin at 1pm (at the opening of gates) and end at 3:00pm. The registration booth will be located at the back entrance.
2. The participants must wear the costume upon registration.
3. The participants must have the following upon registration:
a. Four (4) copies of full body picture of the character.*
b. Registration forms. The participant should fill-out four (4) copies of the registration form provided on the event. It will be submitted upon registration together with the full body picture of the character.
*not applicable to cosplayers joining the Harajuku category.

4. Registration for cosplayers of individual, group, and Harajuku categories will be separate.
5. For group cosplayers:
a. Please make sure that you register all your group members immediately.
b. Group cosplayers are limited to fifteen (15) members only. Three (3) points will be deducted from the final score of the group for every excess members.
c. Anyone not registered with the group will not be allowed to join your group later on.
d. If by the time of catwalk your group is missing even one person, your group will be disqualified. (In other words, when you register, make sure that all your group members have already arrived.)

Costume:

Costumes must be from any anime, manga, game, sentai, jpop/jrock/jfashion. Nudity will NOT be tolerated.
1. If the cosplayer has a prop or costume weapon, s/he must secure it and use it only as a costume piece. Metal weapons will not be permitted under any circumstances. Cosplayers may use toy guns as substitute for real guns.
2. Substances that can be potentially harmful to people or damaging to property or equipment will not be allowed. Such substances include but are not limited to: pyrotechnics, explosives, paint, cigarettes, or any slime. Please be informed that the comfort rooms of UP Ang Bahay ng Alumni are not exclusively for cosplayers. Tenants of nearby shops are also allowed to use the comfort rooms.

Prep Room:

There will be four dressing cubicles located at the backstage. The rules and guidelines for using them will be the following:
1. The use for the cubicles will start at 1pm and will end at 3:30pm.
2. Only one cosplayer per cubicle will be allowed and one assistant per cosplayer. Therefore there can only be a maximum of eight ( 8 ) people on the dressing premises per given time.
3. Cosplayers should line up properly for the use of the cubicles.

Baggage Counter:

Cosplayers are allowed to use the baggage counter for their belongings. There will be numbered tags provided for the bags and other stuff that the cosplayers will be leaving.

*Rules for the use of the baggage counter to follow.


Catwalk:
1. All entrants must adhere to the time limit for their appearance on stage. One (1) minute will be given to individual cosplayers and Harajuku-style cosplayers, three (3) minutes will be given to group cosplayers without a skit and six (6) minutes to group cosplayers with a skit. Failure to comply with the time limit will result to the disqualification of the cosplayer or the group from the competition.
2. Cosplayers will be called out according to the order during registration.
3. PROPS will have to be carried on and off the stage by the contestant or with the help of a (non-registered) assistant.
4. No dangerous STUNTS will be allowed. If you plan on doing anything out of the ordinary during your catwalk, please inform the cosplay coordinators immediately. Any cosplayer who violates this rule will be immediately disqualified from the competition.

Criteria:
The winner of the Cosplay competition will be decided by the judges in terms of this criteria:
1. CHARACTERIZATION - the truthful depiction of the Cosplay to the character’s over-all personality.
2. COSTUME - the closeness of the costume worn by the Cosplay to the costume of the character being cosplayed. Also, how the materials used for the costume making aid in the over-all appearance of the costume.
3. CREATIVITY - the innovativeness in terms of the whole Cosplay proper.

Breakdown:

Individual Cosplay:
Characterization=35%
Costume Accuracy=35%
Creativity/Craftsmanship=30%

Group Cosplay:
Characterization/Group Dynamics=35%
Costume Accuracy=30%
Creativity/Craftsmanship=25%
Performance/Skit=10%

Harajuku Category:

Costume (Originality, Creativity, Overall Appearance)=50%
Catwalk (Stage presence, Projection, Delivery)=40%
Audience Impact=10%




Prizes:
Individual:

1st = 2,000 Php + goodies
2nd = 1,500 Php + goodies
3rd = 1,000 Php + goodies
Group: 5,000 Php
Harajuku: 1,500 Php


OTHER REMINDERS:
1. Always wear your number tags. Be reminded that UP AME will not provide a replacement for lost number tags.
2. Cosplayers are only allowed to use the ground floor washroom.
3. READ BEFORE ASKING.

* UP AME reserves the right to disqualify or deduct points from the total score to cosplayers who violate any of the rules stated here.

If you could please print it out and hand it over on the day itself at the registration booth. We didn't put in an online resevation for this year. Very Happy

I see then. Thanks so much! I read from the UP-AME 8th Avenue website that we are to submit 4 copies of registration forms. It means we need to print 2 copies of this, right? Kindly correct me if I'm wrong. Big thanks! More power to UP-AME \(^_^)/

Sorry. Ulet.

We'll need FOUR COPIES of the registration form (a copy per judge) and FOUR COPIES of your character's reference pic.

So uh, yeah. we need TWO sheets printed since there are two reg forms per sheet.

Kahit print one then photocopy na lang yung iba but we need four. That's if you want to arrive at the venue na na-fill out na yung forms. Thanks. Very Happy
